Highbury Fields sixth formers celebrate great success in their examinations

Highbury Fields School community is today celebrating the great success of our Year 13 students in their A-level and BTEC examinations.  Their excellent results mean that all students in Year 13 are able to continue their education either at university or through higher-level apprenticeships.

All students passed each of their courses, with 81% of our students’ grades being awarded an A*-C or the equivalent.  These excellent outcomes compare very well with national averages and are testament to the dedication and hard work of Year 13 and the high-quality teaching they have in the school.

Within these wonderful results are a large number of quite remarkable individual performances, with five students receiving straight A*, A or distinction grades across all of their subjects.

Racha attained A*, A*, A in mathematics, physics and English literature and will read electronic engineering at Imperial; Yordanos attained A*, A, A in physics, mathematics and English literature and will read mathematics at the University of Manchester; Asia attained an A*, A, A in biology, chemistry and mathematics, as well as a B in psychology and will read optometry at City University next year.  Assia and Duha both achieved three distinctions in Health and Social Care.  Assia will now begin her nursing course at King’s College London and Duha will read Early Childhood Education at UCL.

Amongst other destinations, our Year 13 students will also become undergraduates in English at King’s College London; architecture at the University of Westminster; law at City University; social sciences at SOAS; psychology at Reading; international development at King’s College; geography at UCL and business management at St Mary’s.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students.  Their achievements reflect their commitment to learning and is indicative of the great teaching and great relationships that we have at Highbury Fields, which leads students to academic and social success in school and the broadest of horizons beyond.
